Jap Food Bazaar at Raffles city shopping center

If you are a fan of marché, the swiss-run restaurant, chances are you would love shokudo japanese food bazaar. shokudo shares the similar concept of having several cooking stations under one roof, charge cards and themed dining, but with japanese cuisine instead.

The design of the resturant is colorful, modern and tasteful, with various areas of themed dining. the walls are dominated by murals of tokyo city scenes overlaid with graphics of japanese girls.

Long Queue forming outside the Shokudo Japanese Food Bazaar (#B1-44E) - introduced by Jasmine. We joined in the queue while waiting for Hedy and alvin to arrive. Waited close to 20min before we finally got the tables.

Saw this strange looking stature outside the restaurant while waiting in the queue. Dardar was so amused with the stature that she took a picture of it. Can you identity what the stature is???

as i was going around checking out the food stations, one particular station piqued my interest. it’s a pizza station! these japanese pizzas are wafer-thin and certainly do not resemble the common pizzas!

There is also a western food corner whereby western dishes such as burgers and pasta, were done japanese style. the burgers come with eggs served sunny side up and — check this out — miso-flavored beef patties!

Shabu shabu - Dardar's favorite

Fresh salmon and sword fish sashimi - My all time favorite

A table full of food.... Yummy

Lastly, to top up the delicious food that we have eaten... Ice Strawberri with jelly. Overall the food is quite nice but abit expensive lor...

Finally, we went to the Singapore Jurong Bird park. It was drizzling when we reached there but that does not dampen our energy. This time round, we were making sure that we will be enjoying ourselves dispite the drizzling.

EMu - The Emu is Australia's tallest native bird, reaching 1.6-1.9m when standing erect. It weighs 30-45kg

Adult Emus are covered with shaggy grey-brown feathers except for the neck and head, which are largely naked and bluish-black. The wings are greatly reduced, but the legs are long and powerful. Each foot has three forward-facing toes and no hind toe.

The Cassowary has a whitish patch about its head, the color tapering off to blue and purple from the head down to the neck. Here there are red wattles in front and an orange patch at the back. The red color of the wattles changes from pale to medium to dark depending on the bird's mood. The rest of the body is covered with coarse black feathers. The upper legs, under the long black feathers, are blue, and are otherwise grey or greenish-grey.

Look at the head, it has a horn-like crests called casques on their heads

What a big egg!!! 1 ostrich egg yolk = 50 chicken egg yolk

Pelican - most complete collection of pelicans in the world at Pelican Cove, where all 7 species of pelicans can be found. But we can only find 5 species during the Pelican chit chat session.

Doesn't she look like an Angel

Finally, we settled down in Bongo Burgers resturant for a bite before gonig home. We enjoyed the beef burger and the chicken wings while listening to the rain drop.
